It seems the talk of Zlatan Ibrahimovic joining Jose Mourinho at Manchester United is more than just idle chat.
The Swedish striker is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, and he hinted strongly at a move to the Premier League club during a press conference ahead of his country’s Euro 2016 campaign.
United are expected to announce Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor this week, once issues around image rights are resolved, and the arrival of Ibrahimovic as well as the Portuguese manager would be a major statement.
He may be 34-years-old, but 50 goals in 52 appearances for club and country last season demonstrate that he still has plenty to offer.

Ibrahimovic played under Mourinho at Internazionale in the 2008/09 season, helping the Milanese club to the 17th of their 18 Serie A titles.
But he had been sold to Barcelona by the time Mourinho led the Italian club to Champions League glory in 2010, and said he believes the Portuguese is the right man for the job at Old Trafford.
Ibrahimović: “It's a great move [José]. If you want action, you want Mourinho. I believe he is the man to bring them [Utd] back to the top.”

The veteran frontman helped Paris Saint-Germain clinch a domestic double in his final season, scoring twice in his last PSG game as they saw off Marseille in the final of the Coupe de France.
There has been speculation that he will be handed the number nine shirt at United, with Anthony Martial taking the number seven.
