It might seem like a completely innocent comment, but when someone connected to Real Madrid starts to compliment a player, it very often means that a move for that player is being prepared.
We’ve seen it before with David Beckham. We’ve seen it before with Cristiano Ronaldo. More recently, we’ve seen it with Gareth Bale.
After reports suggested that Harry Kane may be a future target for Real, Zinedine Zidane has again praised the Spurs striker, along with Raheem Sterling, when looking ahead to this summer’s European Championships.Speaking to Shortlist.com, the Real Madrid manager said: “Kane and Sterling are two exciting players for England. This summer in France will be a real opportunity for the rest of Europe to see how good they are.”
With Sterling only moving to Manchester City last summer, it’s unlikely that Real will be looking to try and sign the former Liverpool man.
Kane though, may be seen as a more realistic option for Zidane. With Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the Bernabeu far from certain, the former France international will know that the Portguese star’s departure will mean that his team need to add another goalscorer to their ranks.
Given Real Madrid’s pursuit of Gareth Bale in 2012, perhaps Spurs fans should be bracing themselves for the potential exit of another one of their star players to the Spanish giants.
