Can we start calling Aiden McGeady the Championship Messi now?
Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady can’t seem to stop producing moments of pure magic in the English second flight.
Remember what he did last season at Preston North End? It seemed like every time he togged out, he did something special. Whether it was scoring an absolute beauty or tearing Arsenal to shreds, McGeady often played the starring role at the club.
Preston could not afford to pay his wages to make a move from Everton permanent. But their loss was Sunderland’s gain, who snapped him up for an absolute steal of £250,000.

Sunderland took on Norwich City on Sunday and surprise, surprise, McGeady got his name on the scoresheet again.
The Black Cats defeated the Canaries 3-1 at Carrow Road with McGeady grabbing the game’s second from distance.
He picked the ball up from the edge of the box then made absolutely no mistake with the finish from 20 yards out.

Pick that out.
And to think some Sunderland fans were actually giving out about their club signing McGeady when the announcement was initially made.
