Promising youngster points out the major flaw in those ‘agent’ quotes linking him to Manchester United

On to the next one...

Ah, it’s that time of year again…

In a matter of weeks, 2016/17  will be done and dusted. With some folk more interested in next season than what’s left of the current one, it’s no surprise to see social media is rife with transfer speculation.

Naturally, the vast majority of this speculation is complete and utter bollocks, as we were reminded by Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi on Thursday.

The 20-year-old Nigerian, who arrived at the Premier League champions from Genk in January, has been linked with a move to Manchester United this week.

On Thursday, things even reached the stage where quotes from his agent, Hakeem Bello were doing the rounds on Twitter, claiming his client would be unable to resist United’s advances.

There was, however, one significant problem with these quotes. As pointed out by Ndidi on his own Twitter account, Hakeem Bello is not actually his agent. Not just that, he doesn’t even know the man.

Having knocked this rumour firmly on the head, Ndidi also used his tweet as an opportunity to pledge his commitment to Leicester.

‘Please be informed this information is not true, I’m 200% with Leicester and I don’t know this person called Hakeem Bello,’ he tweeted.
