That matches the previous best mark, set in 2012 by rivals Bayern Munich, who have also won their first five matches this year, only with a superior goal difference thanks to their record of 18 goals against just three conceded.
The 15-point, 18 goal haul exactly matches Dortmund’s record after 17 games of Klopp’s disappointing final campaign in charge.
