Asia has been a profitable market for Manchester United but are they about to turn the tables?
Wayne Rooney has become a divisive figure at Old Trafford, with his performance levels questioned as pricey teenager Anthony Martial impresses more and more.
There’s little doubt the England captain is not at his devastating best but the player is still a powerful performer at times and is his country’s top goalscorer of all time.
However it’s hardly a shock that Rooney is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but his wages are a major stumbling block to any other Premier League side who may be temped to move for the striker.
The sky high figures would not be a barrier to all and the Sun are reporting that Rooney is being courted by various Chinese clubs.
Players like Nicholas Anelka and Didier Drogba have previously made the leap but it is hard to imagine Rooney in the Chinese Super League.
