Wayne Rooney had strong words for Marcus Rashford.
Wayne Rooney has challenged Marcus Rashford to stay at Manchester United and break his goalscoring record. The former England captain has also told his former teammate to get his “f*****g head out of his a**e.”
Rashford has fallen out of favour in the Man United first team and is reportedly considering his future at Old Trafford. According to reports, the forward may look to leave in order to revitalise his career and keep him in contention for a place in Gareth Southgate’s England World Cup squad.

But Rooney, who is United’s all-time scorer with 253 goals, has urged Rashford to stay at his boyhood club to rediscover his form and even break his record.
“To get the record and be United’s highest goal scorer is f***ing massive,” Rooney said during a black-tie event.
“What I hope is that Marcus Rashford f***ing gets his head out of his a**e and goes and breaks that record. He is a Manchester lad.”
I absolutely love this Wayne Rooney's message to Marcus Rashford 😀

Rashford has scored 93 goals in 297 appearances for United. However, the forward’s form this season has taken a drastic downturn and the 24-year-old looks a shadow of his former self.
After scoring 21 goals and 15 assists in the 2020/21 season, Rashford has struggled since his return from injury, scoring just five times and has only started three games since the start of 2022.
What does the future hold for Marcus Rashford?
Rashford’s contract at United ends in 2023, however, the club do have the option to exercise an extra year to keep him at the club. Yet, has he has been linked with a move away.
The likes of Newcastle United and Arsenal have been touted with making a possible move for the 24-year-old, while arch-rivals Liverpool have also been rumoured to be interested in signing the forward – but that one remains unlikely.
