Pay up, Wayne.
Wayne Rooney lost a bet to Rory McIlory over the outcome of the super-bantamweight title bout between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton on Saturday night.
As Rooney’s the Manchester United captain, and the fight was in Manchester, he unsurprisingly backed Bury-born boxer Quigg for the fight.
All the best @scottquigg tonight. Hope you do it mate

And McIlroy was backing his fellow Northern Irishman, and eventual winner, Frampton.
You're a legend Wayne but it's @RealCFrampton all the way! https://t.co/2KPYJEy4Un

Despite Frampton being the favourite for the fight, and eventual winner in a relatively comfortable victory, Rooney was prepared to put his money where his mouth was and back Quigg.
The United captain offered McIlroy a friendly wager.
Both top fighters mate but @scottquigg for me. How about the loser pays the bill next time your in Manchester? https://t.co/lVCTsClaG8
