It was back to the day job for Wes Hoolahan on Tuesday night.
June: The Republic of Ireland playmaker scores against Sweden and sets up Robbie Brady for a dramatic, historic winning goal over Italy.
July: Hoolahan is playing a friendly against Coventry City.
It can’t be all glamour though, and Hoolahan didn’t take long to get back into the swing of things on his return to club action.
The 34-year-old started for the Championship side, and opened the scoring with this beautiful strike after 23 minutes at Carrow Road.
Hoolahan collected the ball just outside the Coventry penalty area, turned away from the defender and curled a shot beyond the Sky Blues’ ‘keeper.

Hoolahan’s Irish teammate Robbie Brady wasn’t part of the squad for the game. The Dubliner has been heavily linked with a transfer back to the Premier League since his heroics at Euro 2016.
