A solid start, Wayne.
Wayne Rooney made his Monday Night Football bow this week, offering his insight ahead of Chelsea’s game at Watford.
The Everton skipper, who returned to Goodison Park after a 13-year stint at Manchester United, joined host David Jones and Jamie Carragher in the studio.
Carragher came up against Rooney plenty of times during his playing days with Liverpool, something the MNF debutant was keen to remind the former defender of as he was welcomed on to the show.
“Think of tonight as your chance to have your say,” Jones said. “Are you ready? Are you looking forward to it?”
“It’s great to be here,” Rooney replied. “To be honest, this is probably the closest Carra got to me so I’m sure he’ll enjoy it as well.”
