Goalkeepers better watch out, because this giant-headed Grandpa is moving in on your territory.
It’s rare that Brazil’s Primeira Fase gets any coverage in this hemisphere, but there was a moment in the last round of matches that we felt compelled to share this side of the Atlantic. It involved an elderly gentleman with a massive head called Vovo.
He’s the official mascot of Ceara Sporting Club, and we’re sure his head’s only grown to gigantic proportions after he wowed the crowd in the game against Fortaleza on Sunday.

Vovo had a magical moment during the match that was just about picked up by the cameras.
After some good build-up play from Ceara, one of their attacking players found himself in possession on the edge of the opposition box with just the goalkeeper and an incoming defender between him and glory. However, he missed his opportunity to become the game’s hero by firing a wayward shot over the bar.
Vovo, who was entertaining the crowd behind the goal, noticed an opportunity. Seeing the ball come hurtling towards his direction, he decided to make the most of the moment and try his hand at an acrobatic wonder save.
There have been better wonder saves, but there have been few as impressive or entertaining as this beauty.
