Sporting Lisbon’s win at the weekend was a particularly emotional affair for Islam Slimani.
The striker was in floods of tears following his side’s 2-1 comeback win over Porto on Sunday.
Slimani brought the game level after 14 minutes, canceling out Felipe’s opener before Gelson Martins grabbed the game’s winner and sent them top of the Portuguese top flight.
The game was likely to be the Algeria striker’s last for the club with reports suggesting that Leicester City are closing in on a record £30m deal to bring the sharpshooter to the King Power stadium. The fact that Sporting have doing a lot of business in the transfer window, including bringing in forwards like Luc Castaignos from Eintracht Frankfurt and Bas Dost from Wolfsburg seem to suggest that his departure from the club is imminent.

Slimani was in sensational form for Sporting last season, bagging an impressive 27 league goals to help the club finish runners-up behind Benfica.
His form was enough to catch the eye of Premier League holders Leicester, who are looking to add depth t their squad for the debut season in the Champions League.
