This is silky in Simon Mignolet’s world.
The Liverpool goalkeeper could be forgiven for feeling a bit of pressure, what with all the pressure he puts himself under.
He’s made a few mistakes in his time, he’s divided opinion amongst Liverpool fans, and he was picked to man the goals in the frightening Signal Iduna Park in the Europa League quarter-finals. It’s a lot of responsibility for one man, no less Simon Mignolet.
But the Belgian had no fear of the Borussia Dortmund crowd or the pace of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. In fact, he thrived off it.
Early on, he put down a marker of his self-confidence when he sold the French-born striker humiliatingly with a big dummy.

It wasn’t the most graceful footwork we’ve ever seen but it was enough to send Aubameyang sliding in the wrong direction and start a fantastic half of football for Liverpool.

And if the skill wasn’t going to work, you had Dejan Lovren’s violent ignorance to set the tone.

It seemed to work anyway.
