Alejandro Gomez isn’t the best-known of Argentine playmakers, but he’s made fans sit up and take notice with a sensational goal for Atalanta.
The former San Lorenzo player embarrassed Carpi goalkeeper Vid Belec with a whipped corner that went over the head of the Slovenian and dipped under the crossbar to give Atalanta a 2-0 lead.
Gomez has now scored against two of Serie A’s newly promoted teams, and just needs a goal against Bologna to complete the set.
The two teams meet on November 1 – keep an eye out if Atalanta get awarded a corner.
Direct from a corner! @Atalanta_BC's Alejandro Gomez needs no help as he bends one in straight from the corner flag. http://t.co/QYjziEfECz
