As you’ve probably heard by now, Romelu Lukaku wants out of Everton this summer.
Having established a reputation as one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League during his stint at Goodison Park, the latest reports suggest that he’s on the brink of a return to Chelsea – the club he first joined from Anderlecht in 2011.
But never mind all the talk of his seemingly imminent big-money move back to Stamford Bridge. After all, that’s not why you’re here, is it?
Instead, you want to see footage of one of the most lethal finishers in the Premier League missing an absolute sitter. In fact, you’ve probably not even bothered to read this bit and have just scrolled down to the video below. Fair enough.
On Monday evening, Lukaku was on international duty for Belgium. The Red Devils won 2-1 in their friendly against the Czech Republic, with goals from Marouane Fellaini and his soon-to-be Chelsea teammate, Michy Batshuayi.
With the scores still goalless in the 15th minute, Lukaku looked near certain to put away a chance that came his way at the back post.
A Kevin De Bruyne cross was flicked on at the near post and after one bounce, all Lukaku had to do was nudge the ball home with his head…
He didn’t.
