One-way street for Rio.
Ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League encounter with Roma, Cristiano Ronaldo made an interesting revelation about his time at Manchester United.
Asked if he was close to Real teammates Karim Benzema or Gareth Bale, Ronaldo reasoned that he does not need to be friends with the men he plays with. All he cares about is that they win together.
To prove this, Ronaldo stated that he barely spoke to Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes during the Champions League-winning 2007/08 season.
Ferdinand was informed of Ronaldo’s words during the BT Sport coverage of Chelsea versus PSG, last night. He responded:
“He’s gone off me.
He used to live next door to me. Unbelievable.
“He didn’t like my cooking.”
“He used to live next door to me!” @rioferdy5 gutted after @Cristiano says he was never that close to him! ? #UCL https://t.co/QDGaeFyut0

This clip, from earlier this season, may explain why Ronaldo was sulking with Ferdinand, Scholes and Giggs.
