Unsavoury to say the least.
The ugly side of football is pretty damn grotesque at times and Richard Keogh felt the full brutal force of it on Tuesday night.
The Derby County skipper watched his Premier League dreams disintegrate as a 2-0 win in Hull wasn’t enough to overthrow their playoff semi final first leg defeat. Steve Bruce’s men advanced to the final in Wembley having won on aggregate 3-2 but some Tigers fans couldn’t just celebrate amongst themselves.
Instead, Richard Keogh was caught up in a bout of gloating as Hull fans ran straight to the Irish centre half to directly taunt him.
The 29-year-old had his hopes of top flight football crushed, he was making his way off the field, then he was confronted by an ill-advised minority.
Keogh was praised for his control. The Hull fan, not so much. And it wasn’t all clean either.
Well done to Richard Keogh for showing restraint with that vulgar Hull fan. Neither will be at Wembley now. pic.twitter.com/OhtAW6axxn

"Memorable scenes?" You can't airbrush out of history the sight of that moron abusing Richard Keogh during the pitch invasion.

That nugget of a Hull 'fan' on pitch in Keogh's face. V happy for Hull, but that ballroot shouldn't be allowed near Wembley. Absolute dick.

It shouldn’t take away from what Hull have achieved again though. Now they are 90 minutes from the Premier League.
WATCH: Hull are going to Wembley and just look at what it means to Abel Hernandez. https://t.co/5DP9vhlniG
