Ray Wilkins take aim at Manchester United for signing Victor Lindelöf over Michael Keane

United fans were quick to point out the mistake in his argument

Manchester United are nearing their first signing of the summer.

The club announced last week that a fee had been agreed with Benfica for Swedish international defender Victor Lindelöf, and the deal is expected to be completed in the days ahead.

Although many of us on these shores have yet to see much of him in action, the general consensus of those that have seen him play is that he’s composed on the ball and – at just 22 – full of potential.

One man that’s not too impressed by the news of Lindelöf’s move to Manchester is Ray Wilkins.

Having represented the likes of AC Milan, Rangers and United during his own playing days, Wilkins’ opinions on all things football are regular sought after by the media. As well as bickering with Sun journalists on talkSPORT radio, he appears frequently on Sky Sports News. This was the case again on Monday, as he was invited to the SSN studios to talk transfers.

Wasting no time at all, Wilkins made clear that United should have moved for Burnley’s Michael Keane instead of Linelöf, stating that the Swede had done nothing in his career to justify the price tag.

Enjoy…

United fans were quick to pick up on the footage, pointing out that his ‘Lindelöf’s done nothing’ comment wasn’t quite accurate.
