The 39-year-old is back in his home country and coaching the national Under-23 side.
Wanchope was refused entry to watch his team’s match against Panama from the sidelines. He settled for observing from the stands but took exception to a young steward standing in his way after the match.
He pushed the youngster before lashing out at a staff member that was looking after security. In the space of eight furious seconds, he would regret that move.
