Two good players, these lads.
Anthony Martial has been easing his way back into the new season.
The Manchester United legend in the making has been fine, he just hasn’t hit peak Martial yet. He hasn’t really had to with the like of Zlatan and Pogba running the show nowadays but it’s coming. It’s inevitable.
Well, he showed glimpses for his country on Thursday night that he could just be ready to hit form in time for United welcoming City to Old Trafford next Saturday.
France disposed of Italy 3-1 in a friendly and it’s no real wonder when you look at the team they can boast.
Paul Pogba was on the giving end twice during the game but it was his first assist for Anthony Martial’s first senior international goal that really stole the show.
The former and current United midfielder looked up, saw Giroud’s run, ignored him, and picked out a beautiful pass into the space behind for Martial to come in off the left and finish with aplomb.
He finished as if he had been doing that with his country his whole life.
And look how Tony enjoyed it.
The makings of a fine partnership.
