Talk about ending a goal drought.
Most of you will know that former Dundalk star, Daryl Horgan, opened his Championship goal-scoring account after he found the back of the net in a 4-2 victory over Brentford.
Of course it’s great news, especially as it’s always good to see an Irish player make the step up from League of Ireland football look so seamless.

However, another Irishman put in an excellent performance, the often maligned Aiden McGeady scored two goals in that game and also set up another.
An incredible individual display which should not go unnoticed.
Of course, McGeady has had a tough time of late. since signing for Everton in 2015, he hasn’t exactly been a prevalent presence in any of the Merseyside club’s match day squads.
A loan move to Sheffield Wednesday followed suit but unfortunately for the Glasgow born 30-year-old, that proved unsuccessful.
Things look to be going better for McGeady on his season long loan to Preston, however.
He scored a brace for his side and laid on an assist, ending a goal drought which had lasted for five months.

And his exploits didn’t go unnoticed by one particular teammate.
Score your first goal but single out a team-mate 👏 👏 👏https://t.co/EdFT5Dck4N
