Harry Kane wants that Golden Boot. Harry Kane really wants that Golden Boot.
After it was originally ruled that Christian Eriksen had scored Tottenham’s second goal at Stoke last week, the club -presumably at the request of Kane – successfully appealed that the ball had in fact touched the England striker last before entering the goal.
This means that he has narrowed the gap between himself and Mo Salah in the race to finish the season as the Premier League’s leading scorer. It also means he’s been the subject of plenty of jokes, including this thread from our very own @vonstrenginho…

The social media reaction to Kane’s appeal has been so great that his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, revealed on Friday that the striker had been left upset by it.
That, however, doesn’t appear to have put a stop to things. Not if a recent tweet by one of AS Roma’s official twitter accounts is anything to go by…
Having provided updates on the Italian club’s Champions League semi-final draw with Liverpool, Roma’s English account tweeted footage of club legend Francesco Totti scoring against city rivals, Lazio (the time he celebrated by taking a selfie). The footage was accompanied by commentary of a Kane goal, following it by showing the Spurs star’s head superimposed on to Totti’s shoulders.
