WATCH: Nani wows crowds with his capoeira skills in bizarre Valencia unveiling

A very unique unveiling.

Spanish clubs love a good player unveiling, don’t they?

Barely a summer goes by without Real Madrid parading their latest big-money signing in front of supporters in the Bernabeu. Who can forget how much effort they went to when they finally prised Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United back in 2009?

Real Madrid Presents Cristiano Ronaldo As New Player

Usually, such occasions are pretty straightforward. Player walks on to pitch wearing his new team’s colours, waves at supporters, proves he’s capable of kicking a football by doing a few keepy-uppies, walks off.

Simple.

But when Valencia decided to unveil new signing Nani, they really thought outside the box.

There was a special stage erected at the Mestalla, and the former Manchester United winger was accompanied by the club’s Pokemon-esque bat mascot as he appeared on the pitch wearing his new team’s kit. But instead of just throwing the Portuguese international a football, Valencia appear to be more concerned with their new signing’s capoeira skills.

Capoeira, for those of you that don’t know and can’t be arsed heading over to Wikipedia, is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance and acrobatics.

Valencia had splashed out on a few capoeira experts as part of the 29-year-old’s unveiling and encouraged him to show off what he could do. Why? We have no idea.

Having left Manchester United on a permanent basis last summer, the Portuguese winger’s move to La Liga was announced during Euro 2016 – bringing to an end his spell in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
