WATCH: Memphis Depay musters up zero enthusiasm reviewing his first Premier League season

Hard to blame him

Ben Kiely

Memphis Depay sounds a bit like he’s reading his own obituary while reviewing his debut season in the English top flight.

There was a lot of hype surrounding the Dutch winger after he made the move from PSV Eindhoven to Manchester United last summer, but has so far failed to live up to his £25 million transfer fee.

The 22-year-old found the net just two times in the Premier League this season and has largely been considered as a flop by most fans.

Depay reviewed his lacklustre season at Old Trafford for Unscriptd and the youngster didn’t exactly sound delighted with how things have turned out for him in Manchester. He even went as far to say that Louis van Gaal’s tendency to leave him on the bench as an unused substitute “pissed him off.”
