Can we start calling him “next Steve Staunton” now?
Andreas Pereira gave a sublime performance during Manchester U21’s 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in which he bagged a brace.
The first was beautiful effort that went in directly from a corner, and from the looks of it, it was no fluke either. It appears as though he was actually aiming for the target when he struck the set-piece.
And with that wonderful goal, Pereira has achieved the same feat that Steve Staunton did against Northern Ireland all those years ago.
