Sheyi Ojo doesn’t miss from two yards.
The 19-year-old Englishman has already risen Anfield to its feet and filled enough inches of Liverpool forums to cover over the Raheem Sterling loss and then some.
But, now, he can add goalscoring to his game.
The winger made eight appearances last season during the Premier League after being recalled in January from his successful loan spell at Wolves and, given the chance in pre-season, he’s trying to seize his opportunity with both hands.
Okay, if he had missed this effort against Roma as Liverpool went down 2-1 in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, he’d have been strung up for it.
But he didn’t miss.
And it was enough for a new wave of enthusiasm around the club.
Because who needs to spend big when you can develop talented players yourself? Jurgen Klopp doesn’t like the idea of splashing over £100m on Paul Pogba.
And now the supporters are riding the wave that only a two-yard goal in a friendly defeat can give you.
English Pele

Because he’s providing the silver lining.
The big plus from this pre-season is the performances of youngsters like Ojo

And the exaggerations.

But he’s definitely ahead of one man anyway.

People are fitting him into their teams now.
Will be interesting to see Wijnaldum in a midfield 2, the pace of Mane, Ojo out wide. Strong side but Lallana, Coutinho, Hendo etc on bench.
