WATCH: Lionel Messi curses Valencia fans as a bottle thrown from the crowd hits Neymar

Barcelona were celebrating a last-minute winner...

Robert Redmond

Things got very messy (sorry) at the end of a brilliant game at the Mestalla on Saturday.

Lionel Messi scored a last-minute penalty to give Barcelona a 3-2 win over Valencia. The Catalan club took the lead through their Argentine genius, but were pegged back by goals from Munir El Haddadi and Rodrigo.

Luis Suarez drew Barca level after 62 minutes, and won the stoppage time penalty. Messi, who has struggled in the recent past to convert penalties, was up against Diego Alves, the Valencia goalkeeper who had saved 17 of the previous 35 spot-kicks he had faced before the game.

However, Messi held his nerve and won the game for Barcelona.

But as the Barca players were celebrating the goal, a bottle was thrown from the crowd and appeared to hit Neymar, (Suarez also dropped to the crowd clutching his face).

Barca coach Luis Enrique became very animated on the sideline, furious that the missile been thrown towards his players.

However, Messi was particularly pissed off at the action of one very stupid supporter.

Messi appeared ready to have a right sort-out, and the supporter could bring his f****** dinner too if he wants.

Messi cursed out the supporter who launched the bottle at his teammate, referring to him in some very rude terms.

According to The Sun, Messi’s insult translates as:

“The c*** of your mother, son of a thousand whores!”

Remember when everyone thought Messi was shy?

In the latest GAA Hour, we talk to Ken McGrath of Waterford and with Declan Brennan about a new club players’ association.
