Harry Kane, you might have heard, was successful in his appeal to claim a goal originally credited to Christian Eriksen last week.
Although nobody really seems any the wiser as to whether Tottenham’s second goal in their win at Stoke came off the England striker, he remained adamant that it did, prompting his club to make the appeal.
Since then, Kane has found himself the punchline to a few jokes. Actually, no – lots and lots of jokes.
AS Roma were one of the more notable names to poke fun at Kane on Twitter on Friday night, with Liverpool’s players also seemingly expressing their disbelief that the appeal had been successful.
As things stand, Mo Salah is in line to top the Premier League’s scoring charts this season – this enough for him to win the Golden Boot. He was on the scoresheet again as Liverpool beat Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino also scoring.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Jordan Henderson – clearly referencing Kane’s successful appeal to the dubious goals committee – joked that the Egyptian had told him he intended to make a similar appeal in a bid to claim the other two goals.

This isn’t going away any time soon, is it?
And, if that wasn’t enough, James Milner also had some fun at Kane’s expense.
Another hat-trick for Mo today…. just waiting for the other two to be confirmed by the claims panel😜 https://t.co/GPYt4vHMn8
