Roy O’Donovan somehow escaped a red card for this vicious headbutt.
The former Cork City and Sunderland striker, currently playing for Central Coast Mariners in the A-League, landed a blatant headbutt on Manny Muscat during the game against Wellington Phoenix last night.
Incredibly, the 30 year old striker was only booked for the headbutt.
O’Donovan appeared to be retaliating for an earlier incident, in which Muscat appeared to throw an elbow at the Irishman.
But that’s hardly much of an excuse.

O’Donovan’s side went on the game, which clearly featured some lenient referring, 3-1.
However, we had to double check if all this occurred during a game of football and not Aussie rules.
