The mighty Gibraltar were knocked off their perch tonight.
The Mediterranean nation held out for 27 minutes in the face of wave after wave of Ireland attacks, before succumbing to a tidy finish from Cyrus Christie.
The Derby County full-back impressed so far on his competitive debut, on just second appearance in an Irish shirt, starting ahead of Seamus Coleman, who had a tight hamstring.
Christie played a one-two on Ireland’s right flank, before dribbling around the Gibraltar defenders and slotting home with a tidy, toe-poke finish.
Ronaldo-esque.

Congratulations to anyone who backed the full-back to score first.
Jammy so and so’s.
