This is about as dramatic as it gets.
Iceland somehow managed to pull off a 3-2 win over Finland in their World Cup qualifier in Reykjavik on Thursday with the odds firmly stacked against them.
The home side were trailing 2-1 with the clock winding down, but Alfred Finnbogason managed to find the net on the 90th minute in what looked like would be the last goal of the game. But this was not to be as deep, deep, DEEP into added time (six minutes, to be exact) Ragnar Sigurdsson bundled in the winner to secure a dramatic, but memorable win for the Icelanders.
However, the Finland players felt very much aggrieved that the goal was given as they felt Sigurdsson’s header from the long ball set-piece didn’t cross the line and was successfully kept out by the keeper. The goal was given and the result will stand, but you can make up your own mind below by checking out the super-slow motion replay below.
