Paul McShane doesn’t like it when his team aren’t performing, simple as.
Reading were heavily reliant on the goalkeeping heroics of Ali Al-Habsi to keep things level after Simon Cox’s first goal of the season cancelled out Emilio Nsue’s opener for Middlesbrough.
There was a sense that something had to give with all that pressure mounting, although it looked like the Royals were going to grab a winner through Matej Vydra.
However, the Czech striker missed a glorious opportunity to become the hero when he blasted his effort over the bar after Stephen Quinn’s wonderful pass left him with only the goalkeeper beat.
Moments later, Boro’s Adam Forshaw scored one of the most amazingly crap winners you’ll ever see.
Ha ha ha! Scrappiest goal ever! @Clayts15 with the shank, Albert's knockdown, Nugent lay off, Forshaw finish! #UTB! pic.twitter.com/vNZ7Aa3Jzu

The game wasn’t without controversy. With 10 minutes left to go in normal time, there was an extremely tense moment between Paul McShane and teammate Danny Williams.
Referee Scott Duncan had to intervene to calm things down, after both men squared up to each other and bumped chests after the ball went out for a throw-in.
