Football on French television is making it increasingly difficult to return to RTÉ, TV3, BBC or any other broadcaster that’s not using holograms.
We know that it’s 2016 and technology nowadays is improving literally on a daily basis but we were still a little taken aback when France manager Didier Deschamps was beamed into studio for a post-match interview with David Ginola.

We just weren’t ready for it and couldn’t possibly fathom Martin O’Neill being transmitted as though he were live in studio.
The eye-rubbing disbelief came shortly after the downright magic that occurred earlier in the coverage when a presenter/witch seemed to step from the very same studio and onto the Stade Pierre-Mauroy surface, abandoning Ginola to stand alongside the pitchside reporter.
