The football Gods showed mercy on Daley Blind on Wednesday night.
Blind will be counting every last blessing in his possession after he was incredibly fortunate to avoid scoring one of the most abysmal own goals the beautiful game has ever seen.
During Manchester United’s Capital One clash against Middlesbrough, Blind found himself with the ball at his feet inside his own box after it ricocheted off the post. He attempted to clear the ball, but he somehow managed to guide the ball into his own net from an angle an incredibly acute angle.
Fortunately for Blind, the referee blew up as a Middlesbrough player was offside.
