Nagging works.
Chronic moaners on a football field might be interested in events unfolding in Portugal on Saturday evening.
Vitoria de Guimaraes lost 1-0 at home to Benfica but the hosts had a man yellow-carded after the break… only for the referee to overturn his own decision.
Guinmaraes player, Cafu, was booked courtesy of a horrendous original decision.
#PrimeiraLiga: OFFENSE!! Vitória Guimarães yellow card in the 48th minute for Cafú. #guiben https://t.co/DtEtuobVQz

But the final match report would tell you that 48th minute booking was subsequently stricken off.
It happened because the referee realised the error of his ways and decided to award a hop ball and instructed that the yellow card be removed after telling the player.
It was the right decision in the end but now we’re wondering if he used a sneaky video replay or had a word in his ear.
Or maybe the nagging just finally got to him.
