WATCH: Criers of the world rejoice, a referee overturns his decision and removes yellow card

Wow

Nagging works.

Chronic moaners on a football field might be interested in events unfolding in Portugal on Saturday evening.

Vitoria de Guimaraes lost 1-0 at home to Benfica but the hosts had a man yellow-carded after the break… only for the referee to overturn his own decision.

Guinmaraes player, Cafu, was booked courtesy of a horrendous original decision.

But the final match report would tell you that 48th minute booking was subsequently stricken off.

Screen Shot 2016-01-02 at 20.57.17It happened because the referee realised the error of his ways and decided to award a hop ball and instructed that the yellow card be removed after telling the player.

It was the right decision in the end but now we’re wondering if he used a sneaky video replay or had a word in his ear.

Or maybe the nagging just finally got to him.
