It’s a cruel, cruel game when somebody has to lose.
Unfortunately for Wales, they had to play that role on Wednesday night as they lost 2-0 in the Euro 2016 semi-finals to Portugal. Second half goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani secured Portugal’s place in the final.
The game saw Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale pitted against each other and it was the former who won the battle on the night.
However, Ronaldo showed great humility in victory at the end of the game towards his teammate. After the final whistle, he made sure to go over to his dejected teammate, have a talk with him and console him over the loss.
It was a really touching moment between the Real Madrid stars.
