Chris Sutton’s style of abrasive, no-nonsense punditry is going down with viewers.
The former Celtic striker doesn’t suffer fools, or opinions he considers to be foolish, lightly and despite his sullen, sometime grumpy demeanour, he’s good value for a cutting opinion. It all makes for entertaining television.
Like the time he said Rangers can’t beat Celtic because their central defenders are “horrendous.”

Sutton was at it again on Saturday afternoon during BT’s coverage of Celtic’s 1-0 over Dundee.
Sutton felt Erik Sviatchenko had been fouled by Cameron Kerr, and Celtic should’ve been awarded a penalty. Former Northern Ireland international Stephen Craigan argued that it wasn’t a penalty, and sparked a strong reaction from Sutton.
“I’m embarrassed for you,” the former England striker said.
It’s worth watching until the end to see Sutton turn to Craigan and tell him he’s “seeing a game nobody else is.”
