Anthony Pilkington did his chances of making the Euro 2016 squad absolutely no harm with a phenomenal performance for Cardiff City on Saturday.
Pilkington was named Man of the Match for his brilliant display during the Bluebirds’ 4-1 win over Brighton in the Championship.
The Irish international was the fulcrum of a lot of Cardiff’s attacks, scored a fine goal and won a penalty, which was converted by Peter Whittingham, to see off any chance of Brighton getting anything from the match.

It was a particularly special victory for Cardiff as they had not beaten Brighton in the league in 11 years, and it also marked the first time this season that the Seagulls conceded four goals in one match.
Unsurprisingly, the reaction to Pilkington’s stunning showing has been receiving quite a lot of praise from football fans on social media.
