Form is temporary, Klose is permanent.
The former Germany international grabbed his fifth goal in as many league games for Lazio during their 2-0 win over Inter Milan on Sunday.
Klose initiated a set-piece move that started from a free kick deep inside Lazio’s half by calling for the ball to be put on his chest. The free taker obliged and Klose rolled it on to Senad Lulic. A pair of one-twos between the teammates split the Inter defence wide open and the striker found himself with only Samir Handanović to beat.
Not only did he get the ball into the net, but he did so in style, personifying composure to fake out the keeper before calmly chipping it straight in for a goal.
While it’s an impressive feat for a man of such advanced years, one must bear in mind that it is the Serie A. Odds are the opposition defence have a combined age of somewhere in the thousands.
