Sepp Blatter may deserve a lot of things, and maybe some day he will get what is coming to him, but at the moment the head of Fifa remains in his job.

Of course he will eventually step down next year after a scandal hit six months, sorry, make that almost thirty years at the top table of world football.

But it seems one of his best buds thinks the Swiss deserves international recognition for being such a lovely man, a man that helped Russia to get to host the next World cup in 2018

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in an interview tonight that he feels the Fifa President should be give one of the globe’s most prestigious honours.

A Nobel Prize.

According to Putin, Sepp deserves praise for being the head of  global sporting body,

“We all know the situation developing around Mr Blatter right now. I don’t want to go into details but I don’t believe a word about him being involved in corruption personally.

“I think people like Mr Blatter or the heads of big international sporting federations, or the Olympic Games, deserve special recognition. If there is anyone who deserves the Nobel prize, it’s those people.”

Those people indeed.
