“He’s funny, bubbly, always in for a joke”
Virgil van Dijk reveals which of his Liverpool teammates is the funniest, and where his favourite place is to play in an interview with Gary Neville.
The Dutch captain is the latest Premier League star to feature on an episode of The Overlap, with the Sky Sports pundit and former United star.
In a segment which sees Neville launch quick-fire questions at the defender, we get to see some interesting insights from one of the most successful players in recent times.
One question which peaked the interest of listeners and especially Liverpool fans, was when he was asked to pick the funniest member of the Liverpool team.
“Andy Robertson. He’s funny, Scottish, bubbly, always in for a joke – yeah he’s the funny one.
“Since the before I joined, the first half of the season, when I wasn’t at Liverpool he [Robertson] didn’t play much, he started to play and that relationship got stronger and stronger.”
No surprises there, as the flying full back often plays with a smile on his face and is in the middle of the team’s many trophy celebrations over the past few seasons.
Next up, Neville asked van Dijk where his favourite stadium to play away in was and given that the centre back has played in numerous Champions League finals, the Premier League, and captains his country, you can only imagine the choices he would have.
My quick fire questions with @VirgilvDijk is out now !

However, it was actually at his time with Celtic, when the Scottish champions took Barcelona in Europe did van Dijk really experience the power of the oppositions stadium.
“That a difficult one as well, but I would say Camp Nou, Barcelona. Obviously for myself, watching a lot of Barcelona games when I was younger and then being able to play in it with Celtic the first time and getting beat 6-1 was tough.
“But to be able to play there was a big one, I really enjoyed it. It is incredible, it’s insane.”
