Today marks the end of a storied sporting institution
The news broke today that Sky Sports News broadcasters will no longer be reporting from outside football grounds on Transfer Deadline Day.
This of course means that we will no longer see the reporters competing for air time (and personal space) with the invariably rowdy-natured football fans in the background.
To pay tribute to the untimely death of what used to be an endless source of entertainment to viewers, we have put together a list of the 13 things that will truly miss in a post-Transfer Deadline Day minus the fan involvement world.
The Camaraderie
United we stand…
The Passion
Top left, there’s a true Potters fan.
The Civility
…or lack thereof.
The Good, Clean, Family Fun
The Enthusiasm
Sometimes it couldn’t even be contained.
The Characters
There have been many but this little guy is one of the most memorable.
The Altruism
These kind-hearted fans were just trying to make sure nobody could steal the reporter’s car before they had the chance to.
The “B**ter”
The interactions between the reporters and fans were never cripplingly awkward at all. Not even in the slightest.
The Videobombers
Some more unexpected than others.
The Dancing
Always have a song in your heart… especially when there’s no music.
The Discipline
It builds character.
The Surprise Signings
QPR were notorious for them.
