We don’t know what caused the former Newcastle man to get so riled up, but he is a braver man than us
In the past, we have spoken of our admiration for Jordan Henderson when he stared down Diego Costa during a particularly fiesty game between Liverpool and Chelsea.
Now it seems the Spanish striker has another, much smaller but equally brave enemy. Yohan Cabaye wasn’t part of PSG’s match day squad for the Champions League game with Chelsea last night but he made sure to get involved in his own special way.
Before the end of the fractious and pulsating 120-minute game at Stamford Bridge last night it was being reported that the Frenchman had gotten into some verbals with members of the Chelsea bench, including Petr Cech.
However, it was after the final whistle that he really upped his game, storming onto the pitch to confront Diego Costa, a man who most of us would cross the street to avoid.
We have no idea if there is a long standing beef between Cabaye and Chelsea, or Costa in particular. Perhaps it was just the physical play of Costa all game that got him hot under the collar.
Whatever it was, he was determined to get his point across to the striker.
