There was a moment of pure magic in an international youth match between Morocco and Brazil at the weekend.
The nations’ respective U16 sides squared off in the prestigious Montaigu tournament in France, and it was one of the North African players that stole the show in the 1-1 draw.
Toulouse player Driss Khalid utilised the double back heel pass to mesmerise the Brazilian defense during the game. Nothing came from the phenomenal piece of skill, but that’s pretty much irrelevant. There is a case to be made for the powers that be to hang this pass up in the Louvre for all to see.
