Some American media outlets really have a hard time recognising Robbie Keane
If Robbie Keane thinks he has finally shaken off the “pal of David Beckham” tag the American press too often slap him wit, he will be sorely disappointed.
It stands to reason that his outstanding, MVP-winning performances in the MLS last season might have elevated himself to a well known sporting figure in the States but seemingly that is not the case. The Irish soccer legend has fallen victim to yet another “unidentified fan” scandal, however this one’s a little bit different.
On this occasion, rather than brand Keane with the anonymous fan label, this site seems utterly convinced that a random spectator sitting beside David Beckham at a basketball match is the all-time record Irish goalscorer.
Oh dear, what more does Robbie have to do to earn the respect of the American media?

While the video shows a very not-Robbie Keane man, our big brother JOE reports that the Ireland captain was indeed at the game but actually found himself reduced to just “another pal” in The Daily Mail.
