Mauro Icardi tried to give his team’s fans a peace offering yesterday, and it backfired big time.
Inter Milan lost 3-1 away to Sassuolo, the side’s second loss in a row and a result that sees them fall to 12th in Serie A.
Icardi managed to score for Roberto Mancini’s side, but it wasn’t enough to appease the Inter’s fans’ anger following a run of bad form.
The Argentine striker went to the away section after full time, jumped over the advertising hoarding and threw his jersey to the Inter fans. Icardi then walked back and jumped over the hoarding, before turning around to see his jersey had been thrown back by the very disgruntled fans.
The 21 one year old, and fellow Inter player Fredy Guarin, who’s jersey was also thrown back, then got into a heated argument with the fans. Icardi was furious, unleashing a tirade against the fans calling them ‘pieces of shit.’

The two players’ gesture was a peace offering, but they probably should’ve noticed that a good few of the fans were flipping them the bird before they threw the jerseys. Icardi has since apologised to the fans he launched his tirade against.
