It’s a miracle.
Manchester City’s Martin Demichelis was laid flat out laid out yesterday, face down on the Old Trafford turf, in clear agony, and in need of instant medical attention. So, Mark Clattenburg ran over to see if Demichelis was okay, because, like the rest of us, the referee was understandably conferenced.
But then, suddenly, Demichelis leapt to his feet. A miracle had occurred in front of over 75,000 in attendance and millions watching at home. However, Clattenburg was unmoved.
His reaction seemed to convey that he thought the Argentine defender was attempting to con him into awarding a free-kick, when a foul had not been committed.
Clanttenburg, you cynical, cynical man.
We all know that no professional footballer would ever resort to such tactics.
