Raise your hand if you can figure this one out
Jonjo Shelvey and Raheem Sterling both threw their arms at opposing players during Liverpool’s win over Swansea last night.
Neither properly connected with the other player, nor did they come close to hurting them, but that ceased to matter in football a long time ago.
So it seemed to be a pretty simple case for the FA – either charge them both or let them both away with it.
Instead, the Football Association has charged Shelvey for throwing his arm at Emre Can but let Sterling away with his attempted slap of Federico Fernandez.
Best of luck if you can spot the difference between the two.
The officials can hardly say that they missed it.
