Ah, James.
That’s some come down to earth for Gareth Bale.
The Real Madrid attacker is doing his best to inspire his Welsh team mates but, God, at some point they’re going to have to meet him half way. Or, you know, a tenth of the way.
Bale is threatening against Israel but he turned provider to what should’ve been more damaging effect when he put this absolute inch-perfect cross on a plate and served that on top of James Collins’s right boot six yards from goal.
Somehow though, the West Ham defender let the empty net go begging as he decided to stop the ball dead instead – admittedly brilliantly – and just failed to touch it in.
There’s a time and a place for showing off your first touch, James. This was not it.
This was not it.
