A couple of Irish players found outstanding form this weekend.
Ireland take on Scotland in a crucial Euro 16 qualifying encounter on Friday 14 November and  some of the Irish performances this weekend have been very encouraging.
Jeff Hendrick was magnificent for Derby County in their 5-0 demolition of Wolves. The 22-year-old bagged a brace to help his side secure a solid victory. His first goal was an absolute belter from distance.
Hendrick was aided a great deal by a sublime assist from young gun Will Hughes for his second goal. The Dubliner still showed great composure to calmly slide the ball past the goalkeeper.
Shane Long was also on fire in this round of fixtures. The Tipp-man also bagged two goals for his club. His brace against Leicester marked his first Premier League goals for the Saints. They’ll be hoping he has a few more performances like this from the striker this season.
Long was the paragon of calmness for his second goal. He recovered well after a dodgy first touch to beat the keeper.
